A Few Christmas Pictures

Uncle David

Just wanted to share a few Christmas pictures. The boys are over the stomach bug and they have all three moved on to croop. I think we will be spending the week at home, being lazy, trying to get well. Kris is back at work today, and I must say I really miss him. He was such a huge help to me over the holidays. He does it all from laundry to putting the big boys to bed at night. The boys are enjoying playing with their new things. It is nice for them to have a few new things to keep them busy.

The Not So Merry Sodergren Christmas

In case anyone was wondering how our Christmas was, one word would sum it up.......MISERABLE!!!!!! On Tuesday on our way to Atlanta, Jack starting throwing up. Kris kept him at the hotel the rest of Tuesday. Christmas Eve was nice until we made it back to our house and Mommy started pucking. Around 12:00 Christmas Eve night Hamilton woke up puking. We laid in bed all night and took turns vomiting. 7:00 am Christmas morning Kris gets Sam up, and we find out he had been throwing up all night in his room and never came to get anyone. So Christmas Day was spent washing sheets, clothes, lysoling the house, sleeping, and some opening and playing with toys when we had the energy (not that that is what Christmas is about). We are better today, just really tired. There are still presents under the tree that haven't been opened. My family called today to let me know we generously gave it to them.......Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas Parties

Last night Kris's firm had a Christmas party for "head start" kids. Over 300 kids attended. The firm made a huge effort to help less fortunate kids have a wonderful Christmas. It was a great time for me to remind my boys how blessed we are. The kids played games, saw Santa, had their face painted, etc. As you can see in the picture, Jackson still will not visit Santa. He looks on from afar and then high fives his brothers after they retrieve his candy cane.

Behind the Quote

Some of you now think I live with a grouch! He really doen't "Hate" babies. All three boys had very bad colic and screamed for about 3 months straight. Jack was better than the other two. So having a baby in the house for us has always been CRAZY. So I can really understand his ill feeling toward an infant. Mothers seems to forget that time very quickly.......it's taking Daddy a little longer.

Quote for the Day!!

"I hate babies"

Those were the words of my sweet husband as he rolled out of bed this morning. We watched 2 month old Nate last night for Anna. He was fine, but Kris thinks there is nothing in this world more miserable than a newborn baby. It's a good thing I feel the complete opposite. I woke up this morning with a big smile on my face. Babies are refreshing to me. I love gazing into their eyes and hearing them coo. Looks like I have some work to do on Kris before I can expect #4.

Santa Picture 2008

Yesterday, we were in Birmingham at Children's Hospital finishing up Samuel's labs. I decided to make a day of it and dressed the boys with the intention of getting their picture made with Santa at the Galleria. We finished at the hospital and go to my favorite restaurant.....Superior Grill. The boys and I have a wonderful lunch. On our way out, we all grab a mint. As we are leaving the parking lot, Hamilton starts screaming that Jack is choking. I throw the car in park and head to the back. By the time I make it over Samuel, who is oblivious to anything in the world going on, Jack was throwing up our wonderful lunch and the mint. My first thought was praise God for leather seats. We run by Anna's for a set of bum clothes and still make it to Santa for pictures. I wasn't going to get their picture made because of coarse Jack wasn't in his cute Christmas outfit. But Santa was so stink in real I had to have a picture. Jack was so terrified that Santa had to sneak behind the chair to even be in the picture. And yes, they gladly took my $32.00 when we exited. But it was worth it. Santa was amazing!!!!! We always seem to have a crazy story behind our Santa pictures. Maybe we will do better next year.......I seriously doubt it.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are so blessed and truly have much to be thankful for. The holiday came and went and left me thinking one thing......
I love my family......
Kris
my boys
parents
sisters
nephews and niece.
I host Thanksgiving at my house every year. My mom comes early, and we cook for days. We laugh, nibble, and I make fun of her for being messy in the kitchen and she tells me I drive her crazy cleaning up after her. Then the fun begins when the crazy Atlanta cousins arrive. My boys had a blast and LOVED being with their cousins this year. We feasted on Thanksgiving day, planned our black Friday shopping, and had our annual game of flag football. We even celebrated the arrival of the newest member of the family.....Baby Nate. (I have not one picture of the entire few days. My camera broke around Hamilton's birthday and hopefully is in the process of being replaced......hint to Kris)

Update Samuel

Just a quick update on Sam. As of yesterday, we have completed all of the lab work Mayo Clinic requested. One of the genetic blood test could take as long as 3 months to get the results. The other test on Sam, and brothers, should start coming in next week. It is wonderful working with the Mayo Clinic and knowing Samuel is getting the best care and attention.
