This morning Sam had the laser procedure to breakup and remove his kidney stone. It was successful and we are home. Sam has a stint that will be removed on Monday. The doctor found what they call a "mega ureter". The ureter on the right is 5 times the size of the ureter on the left. At this point, we don't know if we have one problem or 2. He could have stone disease and a congenital defect"mega ureter" or the stones could be secondary to having a mega ureter. In a month, we will have a catheter for 24 hours: this urine collection should give the doctors more information. Of course this is all contingent on being pain free. A pain episode could change this plain.
This is unexpected and alot of information to digest. I was hoping to return home today with closure. Now I am back to researching. Pray Sam will be comfortable and pain free as he is recovering from this surgury. Pray for wisdom and knowledge for Kris and me. We want to make the best decisions for Samuel.

Praise the Lord that the huge stone is gone at least. How odd about the uriter? Did they not notice that during last week's surgery? Well- I know you hate having more questions- We will pray for some real answers. Samuel is such a brave boy- that's a lot he's been through. Take care and keep us posted. Love you!
